Mini Deck — handheld mini-computer with flippable display, full QWERTY keyboard, and integrated antennas in a custom 3D-printed enclosure

The Mini Deck is a purpose-built enclosure for a handheld mini-computer that gets used on-site during technical productions — for diagnostics, remote control of media servers, quick config work, whatever the situation calls for.

Why it exists

Off-the-shelf handheld cases are either too generic (no context for what’s inside) or too niche (built for one specific gadget that isn’t the one you have). Printing the enclosure to spec means the ports line up, the buttons stay accessible, the antennas have room to sit, and the whole thing fits the actual hardware — not something close to it.

Design decisions

A flippable integrated stand lets the Mini Deck sit up as a small display terminal when it’s needed on a workbench and lie flat when it isn’t. The full QWERTY keyboard stays exposed for direct input, the trackpad face carries a small RL touch, and each build gets its own colorway so units are visually distinguishable at a glance in a shop full of black rectangles.

The enclosure is designed around the hardware first — port positions, antenna paths, and thermal channels — with the ergonomics of a small notebook layered on top.
