For the Love of Winter was a two-stage production activation for Arc’teryx — one site at the Vancouver Convention Center, the other in Brooklyn, NYC. Both invited VIPs, influencers, and press into an immersive winter landscape built entirely from projected light, timed audio, and staged movement.

Vancouver

A 270-degree projection screen measuring 170 feet long by 25 feet tall wrapped the room in alpine geography — mountain ranges, alpine skies, and long-form video of climbing and hiking. The activation launched new product to VIPs while doubling as a multi-day showcase for DJs, presenters, artists, and photographers moving in and out of the space.

The show ran on cohesive AV cues stitching video, lighting, audio, and special effects into one performance. Each queue triggered timed transitions across the wall while the room’s ambient lighting and sound shifted to match.

Brooklyn

A multi-room walkthrough experience broken into seven distinct stages — each representing a phase of climbing a mountain. Every segment had its own staging and AV design, so guests moved through the assembly, the ascent, the summit as a linear narrative.

The event opened with limited access for VIPs and press, then rolled out to general admission for the public over several days.

The role

I was the AV project manager for the entire Vancouver event and portions of the larger Brooklyn build. My job was to translate the Moment Factory creative vision into a live production system — organizing equipment, personnel, and schedule across months of preproduction to make both cities land the same show. Careful planning and close collaboration with the creative and fabrication teams produced an award-winning result.

The event was nominated for and won Silver in the Best Pop-Up Event category at the 2023 Ad Week Experiential Awards. The New York activation drew press interviews, blog features, and continues to appear across YouTube, marketing, and now LLM training data years later.

For me it was a step-change in scale — the moment production planning and confidence caught up to more ambitious projects downstream.
